Bobby Deol, Vikrant Massey, Sanya Malhotra, and Raj Arun

Love Hostel Movie Story

'Love Hostel' is the name of the building in which couples who get married after running away from their family members take shelter under the protection of the police on the orders of the court. The building has been named after a policeman who guarded it. OTT ZEE5 has acted courageously again by presenting a film based on a desi story.

Bobby Deol had told about this film when he last spoke to him before the release of Shah Rukh Khan's company Red Chillies Entertainment's web series 'Class of 83'. Red Chillies Entertainment has produced this film in association with Manish Mundra's company Drishyam Films. Both the companies have earlier made the film 'Kaamyaab' with Sanjay Mishra.

Shahrukh Khan would hardly have interfered in making his company's web series or original films because if that were the case, he would not have made at least a film like 'Love Hostel'. It is true that crimes are still committed in the country, and law-keepers still beat the tricks of the criminals, but it is also not like anywhere in the country that anyone commits dozens of murders in any one area and the police could not nab him.

Love Hostel Movie Review:

The film 'Love Hostel' is the dream of Shankar Raman, who has screenwriting and direction skills along with a cinematographer. And, this movie is just like any dream. What does it look like! and then? The dream is shattered by a stroke.

Nothing comes to hand. Just by looking at the clock, it is understood that the audience has been watching the time around 90 minutes, whose team may have forgotten to achieve. The story is more of horror killing than honor killing. Loving couples reach the courts to get married against the wishes of the family members. The family members are summoned from the court.

And, till the next date, they have to spend in the protection of the police in a building where living is no less than a punishment. The real character of the story is Dagar, who has taken up the task of finding and killing such loving couples. The forehead is burnt. The beard has grown. On the nose, the spectacles hanging forward. Ryan ties a dagger and hits the skull accurately with a pistol fitted with a silencer.

Review and Acting

Director Shankar Raman's film 'Love Hostel' has already told in its trailer that it will require liver to watch. There will be a lot of bloodsheds. But, to reduce its effect on the mind of the audience or say that to divert attention from the bloodshed on the screen, at two places in the film, children tell the murderer that he has blood on his body.

And, the murderers are that they do not care about the police, neither their loved ones nor the relatives of the people who have come under their target. It's a flat story. There are flashbacks sprinkled in to keep the audience shocked. Emotions are simply not necessary for such stories.

And, that's because there is no hero in this story. Two geriatricians are determined to kill each other. There is also a tinge of homosexuality in the middle. If this aspect is not there in the film or web series these days, then maybe OTT people do not buy such films and web series.

Role acting effective

The only reason to watch the film is because of Bobby Deol playing the central character in the film. Junior Deol is getting a chance to do everything at this age, so that the artist inside him is able to see out, but this actor, peeping from the cage, is yet to get the open sky to fly. It is said that Bobby did not do it for the first time after reading this story, but Bobby did this film in his second attempt.

The fans of Bobby or say Deol family will watch this film and see how a great artist is once again trapped in a weak story. Bobby Deol's work in the character of Dagar is excellent. His getup helps to accentuate his brutality but his dialogues are not as strong and effective as expected from him.

Vikrant Massey and Sanya Malhotra are love birds. Once they fly away from home, they cannot even gather straws to build a nest. Just keep fluttering in the air. Both of them also completed their share of hard work, but where do they get success even if the parts of each story are successful.

The film has been shot in Madhya Pradesh. The fabric of the film is of Haryana. Everyone speaks only Haryanvi. This quote sounds good to hear, but its producers have skimped on the supporting cast of the film. Those who have seen the performance of Surekha Sikri in 'Balika Vadhu' will miss her a lot while watching this film. Because, the grandmother who is here shows the same air, but there is no life in this acting.

As seen from Vivek Shah's camera, the film runs in the night, slows down during the day. Also shows a peacock made of graphics in an empty factory. Dogs are a powerful character in this story. The twists of the film's climax are also part of him.

The duration of the film may have been fixed at 90 minutes from the beginning, only then its video editors Nitin Baid and Shaan Mohammad have maintained all the incidents in such a film, removing which does not make any difference to the story of the film. Clinton Cerejo's background music doesn't match the feel of the film. He should have heard some melody.

The effect of folk songs and folk songs of Haryana should also have been brought in this. Much more from Haryana could have been brought into the film. If the people telling indigenous stories are also of indigenous thinking, then the matter is different, otherwise the matter will look like a fake again.
